Online Manipal welcomes Batch 5 of Manipal University Jaipur’s online students!

On March 17, 2023, Manipal University Jaipur welcomed the 5^th batch of its online students through a virtual orientation. The orientation program served as an opportunity for learners across geographies to connect with their peers and course coordinators who will guide them through the online program. It was a great opportunity for students to also interact with entrepreneurs and industry leaders through a state-of-the-art virtual platform and are now pumped in to start their exciting journey ahead.  

Peer connects, photo booth & other exciting activities 

During the virtual orientation, online students not only interacted with each other, but also participated in MUJ’s fun zone, where various games were organized. The “peer connect” was specially created for students to get to know their batchmates better even before their online degree program begins. Learners could access a “resource center” where they could download all the necessary information required. Students also clicked selfies at the photo booth and shared their pictures with #OnlineManipal & #AzadiWaliDegree. 

Dr GK Prabhu, Vice Chancellor & President, MUJ, emphasizes the legacy of Manipal group 

The opening address for this grand virtual orientation was kickstarted by Dr GK Prabhu, Vice Chancellor & President, Manipal University Jaipur. “In a span of 70 years, Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG) has changed the lives of more than a million people, across 80 countries worldwide. In 2021, Manipal University Jaipur entered the online space, wherein through Online Manipal, learners were able to access convenient and affordable online degrees, along with the flexibility of studying anywhere, anytime. MUJ is proud to have brought the on-campus experience to the online world,” he said.

• Of the 500 plus faculty at Manipal University Jaipur, 70% are PhD holders and experienced professors 
• MUJ gives access to a lifelong learner community, where students can connect with peers worldwide 
• MUJ’s faculty play a key role in guiding students to keep up with markets trends in the industry 
• Online Manipal proves career counseling & placement assistance to students in their final semesters  

Mr. Ambrish Sinha, CEO of UNext Learning, throws light on why digital is the future 

Mr. Ambrish Sinha, CEO of UNext Learning, congratulated the batch 5 of online students who are looking forward to exploring a new phase of life. He asserted that online education has transformed the lives of students and recruiters today believe that online education is equal to on-campus learning. “As the technology partner for delivering MUJ’s online programs, Online Manipal is proud to give access to a diverse range of degree programs, the best in-class digital platform that caters to learners from various walks of life like startup founders, working professionals, entrepreneurs and students,” Sinha said.  

He also mentioned “Ekam”, an in-person students meet up organized by Online Manipal that brings together learners worldwide. Over 500 students met at the campus of Manipal University Jaipur, interacted with peers & faculty, and took part in cultural performances and activities. 

Valuable perspectives of industry leaders  

Mr Pankaj Rai, Chief Data & Analytics Officer, Aditya Birla Group 

Mr Pankaj Rai, Chief Data & Analytics Officer, Aditya Birla Group highlighted issues prevailing in the private job sector and how to tackle them. He spoke about the 5C mantra that he follows in life- Curiosity, Conviction, Compassion, Creativity & Communication. He asked students to think of a similar framework that will guide them through their personal and professional lives.  

Ankur Warikoo, Indian Entrepreneur & YouTuber 

Ankur Warikoo, an Indian Internet Entrepreneur lauded students for choosing to study in the online mode, asserting that digital education is the future. He said online learning enables people from various backgrounds to interact with each other and get diverse perspectives. He also gave a very important message to students- “More & more time you spend with people like you, less the time you get learn new things. ” It is important for students to connect with learners from diverse cultures and work styles to get unique perspectives. He concluded his speech with an inspiring quote, “Look at the most successful people in the world, they were on a path of maximum resistance, they know they will face fears to pave the way for success.” 

Wrapping up 

Dr Mallikarjuna, Director of Online Education, Manipal University Jaipur, wrapped up the program by assuring quality education in the online mode to learners worldwide. He extended his thanks to all learners, faculty, industry experts and entrepreneurs who made this orientation program a grand success.
